JAMMU, Mar 12: A large number of vehicles remained stranded on busy Jammu-Srinagar National Highway near Ramban for more than five hours after land slides struck highway at around 3 pm.
Official sources said that at Marog, hardly 8 kms ahead of Ramban towards Banihal, the land slides created massive blockade on the highway at around 3 pm. A large number of vehicles including passenger vehicles were stranded for hours together.
The National Highway authorities pressed JCBs/ dozers on both the sides. The one way traffic could be restored at around 8.30 pm. The Traffic Police authorities were first clearing the passenger vehicles stranded on both the sides of the highway when the last reports came.
