JAMMU, Mar 26: National Student Union of India (NSUI) and Youth Congress activists from J&K, accorded a grand reception to the son of the soil, Neeraj Kundan on his first visit to his home state after being appointed as National president of NSUI.
A local youth, Iftkar Ahmed, who has also been appointed as National Coordinator, Indian Youth Congress (IYC), was also accorded warm reception on the occasion.
The Youth Congress and NSUI workers gathered at Jammu Airport, where they garlanded both the leaders and welcomed them on their first visit to the City of Temple. After reception at Airport, a grand reception rally proceeded to the PCC office at Shahidi Chowk Jammu. The NSUI and PYC leaders were mounted on a decorated open vehicle and in the form of large procession, the youth moved on the city roads. They were shouting slogans in favour of both of them and AICC chief Rahul Gandhi.

The programme was held under the guidance of Shahnawaz Choudhary, PCC general secretary. It was jointly organised by NSUI J&K unit and PYC under the leadership of Uday Chib State president PYC, Ankush Bhatnagar, national secretary NSUI and In-charge J&K, Raqeeb Khan, State president NSUI.
Shahnawaz, Uday Chib, Jatinder Chib, Rakeeb Khan along with other leaders also accompanied Neeraj and Iftikhar during reception rally in an open jeep. The rally in the form of procession of bikes and cars started from airport and after passing through Satwari, Gandhinagar, Tawi Bridge and Gumat and Residency Road finally culminated at Congress office, at Shahidi Chowk.
PCC chief GA Mir flanked by senior leaders Nawang Rigzin Jora, former DyCM Tara Chand, former ministers RS Chib, Mula Ram, Manmohan Singh, DCC president Rural Hari Singh Chib, Vikram Malhotra (Jmu-U) received the tally at PCC office.
Later, addressing the function at PCC office, Mir congratulated Neeraj Kundan on being appointed as a National president and Iftkhar Ahmed as National Co-ordinator IYC. He further said the appointment of Kundan and Iftkhar from a non-political background clearly reflects the vision of Rahul Gandhi who has opened the door of politics to the youth of common family and Kundan is the source of inspiration for all youth of J&K.
