JAMMU, Mar 8: Parents of Neha Basson, who died under mysterious circumstances on February 23 after receiving a bullet injury at her residence here at Exchange Road, today alleged that their daughter has been murdered by her husband, Inspector Vivek Basson, who is posted in the Chief Minister’s security.
Addressing a press conference here today, Rattan Lal, father of Neha Basson, along with his wife, expressed doubt over the death of her daughter. They alleged that their daughter has been murdered by his husband, who used to quarrel with her every now and then on the instance of his parents.
They further said that Vivek Basson used to pressurize their daughter for bringing money from them and once he himself demanded Rs 10 lakh from them but as our financial condition was not good, we could gave him only Rs 1.5 lakh.

The parents of Neha Basson further alleged that Vivek even did not inform them about her death and they came to know about this at about 1.30 in the afternoon while she died of bullet injuries in the morning. They also expressed dissatisfaction over ongoing police investigation and demanded CBI probe or constitution of Special Investigation Team (SIT) into the matter.
The couple said that even after a lapse of 13 days, the police has neither registered a FIR in the case nor made public the postmortem report of their deceased daughter. They further alleged that police is delaying the investigation and trying to destroy the evidence as the accused is a blue eyed person of police department and posted in CM security.
