‘Neemrana Dialogue’ normal; no change in India’s stand on talks with Pak: Govt

NEW DELHI: India on Thursday ruled out that the Neemrana Dialogue held between civil societies of India and Pakistan was aimed to revive formal talks between two sides and asserted that New Delhi’s stand vis-a-vis Islamabad on reviving formal talks is clear and consistent.

“Our stand is clear and consistent, India has stated it repeatedly that the terror and talks cannot go together. There is no change in that stand,” MEA spokesman Raveesh Kumar told reporters here. Answering questions on the meet that was held by civil societies between two sides between April 28 and April 30 in Islamabad, he said, “mujhe nahi lagta hae ki koi adhar tayar karne ki baat hae (I don’t think any foundation is being held for reviving formal talks)”.
