NDA Govt total failure, voters feeling deceived: Subash Gupta

KATHUA, May 1: The escalating hardships of public and lackadaisical attitude of the Government towards the redressal of the problems had proved that the State coalition as well as the Union government had turned Nelsons’ eye towards public. Now the people, who voted for BJP and its associates are feeling depressed. This was stated by district Congress Committee President and former MLC Subash Gupta  while addressing monthly meeting at Hiranagar, today.
The meeting was attended by a large number of Panchs, Sarpanchs and other activists’ who raised various issues pertaining to their areas.
Subash Gupta criticized Union Government and held it responsible for the hardships of people of border hamlets. He said, “since independence, the people residing in the border hamlets of Hiranagar are facing hardships due to unprovoked firing by the Pakistani troops, infiltration of militants and finally the lackadaisical attitude of the State government.. He added that government despite mitigating the problems is trying to increase their hardships.
Giving the reference of land acquired by the security forces he said that forces occupied land of farmers for constructing defensive structures. However, since 1947 the farmers have been deprived of land compensation. Compensation of crop which  came under army mines during 2001 and about two crore released during UPA government has not been disbursed so for.
“The residents of border villages are still waiting for the payment of balance amount of compensation of crop  lying in Deputy Commissioner Office, Kathua and Tehsil office Hiranagar.
He further said that now the BSF is asking people to provide 135 feet land across the fencing. He added that more than 3000 Kanals of land of farmers is across the fencing and farmers are facing huge loss, as they could not cultivate the land.
Subash Gupta also castigated State Government for not providing 5-5 Marla of land at safe places, not providing compensation of crop losses, lack of drinking water, unscheduled power cuts and lack of other basic amenities.
