NCST, Radio Sharda hold awareness programme

JAMMU, May 13: An awareness programme on healthy women was conducted under Science for Women by National Council for Science and Technology  (NCST) in collaboration with Radio Sharda 90.4 FM here today.
The programme was held under the chairpersonship of Dr Jyoti Hak, Associate Professor Department of Gynaecology GMC Jammu, Dr Usha Tickoo, a well known educationist Dr Usha Kher and Dr Sarojni Bhan Dhar were the special guests on the occasion.
A large number of women participated in the programme. In her address Dr Jyoti Hak stressed the need of creating an ideology that places social pressure on mothers to seek scientific and medical advice regarding proper mothering techniques.
Giving details of the programme Coordinator of NCST Neelam Razdan Wali called for women to develop scientific attitude and listen programmes made by Radio Sharda in this regard which will provide broader perspective for scientific attitude.
She detailed the audience about the programme made by community ladies with a total scientific outlook.
The other prominent ladies who spoke on the occasion included Dr Usha Kher, Dr Usha Tickoo, Dr Saroojni Bhan, Manju Raina, Sujata Pahalwan, Anju Raina and Jyoti Kak.
Dr Usha Tickoo expressed her satisfaction over the role played by Radio Sharda in organizing such scientific based research programme which enlightens the women about the benefits of adopting life style on scientific basis.
In his address Ramesh Hangloo Director Radio Sharda highlighted the role played by the Radio Sharda in this regard. He said different kinds of programmes are broadcast for the women empowerment, related to their health, pregnancy etc.
He said a healthy woman can be a guarantee for a healthy family which in turn makes a healthy society and nation.
Bihari Kak a well known artist, Asha Zaroo a veteran artist, Jai Krishan Raina, Vijay Kaul, Adarsh Anand and others also spoke on the occasion while programme was conducted by P K Raina. Jyoti Kak was honoured for her meritorious services.
