NCP celebrates 20th Foundation Day

JAMMU, June 10: State Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) celebrated 20th Foundation Day, here today.
While addressing the party workers, State NCP President and former Minister Randhir Singh said that this Foundation Day is being celebrated at a time when the growing intolerance and the arrogance of the ruling party poses a serious threat to the socialist, secular and democratic setup of the society.
“No political party in the country by itself is capable of resisting the communal authoritarian forces”, he added.
Singh said that the people has accepted the NCP whole heartedly at the very inception of the party, adding that NCP was conferred the national party status by the Election Commission of the India by evaluating the performance of the party in the general elections in 1999 which they contested all alone just four months after the formation of the party in 1999 in Mumbai under the leadership of Sharad Pawar, National President.
“We have expanded our base to all the States and Union Territories of the country and continued to be the national party”, he asserted.
He informed that ten J&K national council members elected under his leadership are going to attend the National Convention of NCP to be held at Pune on June 22 and 23.
Among others present were Krishan Kumar Digra, GM Pal, Saifullah Khan, Javed F Rehman, Dr Liaquat Ali Magray, Satpal Sharma, Dr PD Shastri, Col Amar Singh, RS Billowaria, etc.
