NCC scripts narrow win in Chief Minister’s Cricket Cup

JAMMU, Mar 2: National Cricket Club (NCC) Jammu registered 18-run narrow win over Brigadier Rajinder Singh Memorial Cricket Club (BRSMCC) in the ongoing 1st State Level 50-Over Cricket Tournament for Chief Minister’s Cup, being organized by J&K State Sports Council in collaboration with Country Cricket Academy at Gharota, near here.
Batting first, NCC scored a modest total of 163 runs in 36 overs. Abdul Samad top scored with 33 runs, while Deepak Singh Manhas contributed 23 runs to the total. Gokul Baru, Amrit Pal Singh and Manish Dogra also contributed 21, 20 and 15 runs to the total respectively. For BRSMCC, Naushad scalped 4 important wickets, while Salim Khan took 3 wickets. Jagtar Singh, Vikrant and Davinder Sharma claimed one wicket each.
In reply, BRSMCC, fell short of 18 runs and managed to score 145 runs. Salim Khan was the top scorer with 32 runs. For NCC, Vijay Dogra was the pick of the bowers, who took 5 important wickets, while Deepak Singh Manhas claimed 4 wickets. Inderjeet Singh also claimed one wicket.Vijay Dogra was declared as man of the match for his 5-wicket haul.
The match was officiated by Ashok Singh and Rajinder Kumar as umpires, while Sandeep Singh, former Ranji Trophy player was the 3rd umpire and Swastik Sharma was the scorer.
In tomorrow’s fixture, Katra Cricket Club will take on Road & Safety team from J&K Police.
