NCB arrests three with over 2 kg charas

JAMMU, Jan 9: Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), zonal unit, Jammu arrested three persons and recovered over 2 kg of charas in two separate cases in city and its outskirts.
According to a spokesman of NCB, the first seizure was made yesterday from two persons just opposite to Super Speciality Hospital, Jammu. About 52 challis of charas (3 packets @ 15 Challi and one packet containing 7 challi) having a weight of 1.490 kg was recovered from the possession of duo, who were identified as Sanjay Kumar son of Dhano Raj resident of 179/F, Shopping Centre, Bakshi Nagar (Jammu) and Dabal Kumar son of Siddu Kumar, resident of Nepal (presently residing at Pacca Danga, Jammu.
“The Tempo Traveller bearing registration No JK02V-9939 in which they were going on was also seized. The charas recovered were duly wrapped with brown colour tape and hidden under the left side rear light of the vehicle”, he said, adding a case in this connection was registered and further investigation in the matter is going on.
The spokesman further disclosed that on the same day, an NCB team seized 720 g of charas from one person namely Surinder Mohan Sharma, resident of Ward No 35, H No 228/4, Janipur (Jammu), from Disco Road, Janipur.
He said all the three arrested persons were today produced in a court in Jammu and further lodged in the District Jail, Jammu for judicial custody.
