JAMMU, Mar 18: Describing National Conference-Congress coalition as engine of development and guarantee to peace and prosperity of Jammu and Kashmir, Provincial President Devender Singh Rana today sought massive mandate for alliance candidates in the ensuing Lok Sabha elections.
“For sustaining peace and consolidating gains of development registered during the past over five years, continuity is imperative for larger interest of the State”, Mr Rana told enthusiastic party workers of the Jammu district at Sher-e-Kashmir Bhavan this afternoon while appreciating their hard work in strengthening secular forces in their areas.
Mr Rana castigated inimical forces for indulging in rhetoric, saying assuaging political aspirations of the people and undertaking development on a massive scale holds key to steer the state to peace and prosperity.  He termed PDP as a spent force and BJP having no role in the governance of Jammu and Kashmir and said that National Conference holds promise for the future. He said the arrangement with Congress has worked well and helped in meeting the expectations of the people.
Mr Rana shared his assessment and on- the- spot feel of his three day visit to various districts of the Jammu region and said the people have made up their mind to give a befitting reply to disruptive, opportunistic and dubious forces, who have joined hands to weaken the secular fabric of the State.
Hitting out at clandestine understanding between BJP and PDP, the Provincial President said that people have understood their game plan of ‘divide and rule’ and made up their mind to foil this with their full might.
Mr Rana said that vote to alliance candidates will be support to the policies and programmes of National Conference led by Dr Farooq Abdullah and Omar Abdullah besides acknowledgement of the developmental initiative taken by the Chief Minister.
Speaking on the occasion, Kr Rachpal Singh, State Secretary and MLA, referred to the performance of the Government during over past five years and said this has been unparallel in every sphere of activity. “Even adversaries are admitting about the overall development taking place in all the three regions and their sub regions”, he added.
Th Kashmira Singh, State vice president and former Minister Babu Rampal also spoke on the occasion.
