Srinagar, Apr 22: People’s Democratic Party (PDP) senior leader and candidate for Baramulla Parliamentary constituency has said the resolution of the Kashmir issue and the issues being faced by people in the State will be the focus of its members in the Parliament.
Addressing wayside meetings in Handwara Segment of Baramulla constituency today he appealed to the people to vote for the PDP candidates for a peaceful and progressive State that holds a promise for its youth and is able to provide a dignified life to all its citizens.
Baig said NC is a spent force and it has outlived its utility as a political organisation which could be trusted with vote and responsibility. He said who so ever people elect as their MP or MLA the one point agenda for the party remains that one Abdullah should be the Chief Minister and another a Minister in Delhi in alliance with who so ever rules the country.
Baig said the Lok Sabha election provide an opportunities to people to elect such representatives as would sincerely present their case to the Parliament and neutralize to some extent the damage caused by NC.
PDP leader said now after having miserably failed to fulfill their poll promises of providing jobs to all including 8th pass, cheap power, cheap gas, good roads, clean drinking water, good health facilities etc. NC is resorting to cheap tactics to divert attention from its failures.
He said hundreds of retired officers were given extensions with huge salaries, while as highly qualified persons have to work on daily wages and without pension under the new recruitment policy.
“Daily wagers and casual labourers, SPOs are working on meager allowances, while as retired officers like Mushtaq peer get multiple extensions to loot the state and share the booty with their masters,” said Baig.
Baig said there is no count of scandals that have taken place during the present regime. Well founded accusations have been against the highest political authorities of the state including the Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah, Dr Farooq and many Ministers.
He said the Cases like Haji Yousuf’s death and cricket scandal were hushed up which is in contract to what is happening in rest of the country where high and might have lost their jobs and gone into jails but in J&K the Congress and NC have been protecting each other and covering up their misdeeds.
He said in a State where thousands quintal ration meant for poor disappears; where money meant for providing cricket facilities to budding players is stolen by the ‘tallest leader’ of the alliance; where examination papers are sold for lacs and jobs are sold- in the given scenario what option are left with people except agitation.
