NC Minority Cell protests against apathetic attitude of Govt

JAMMU, Apr 13: National Conference (NC) Minority Cell held a protest demonstration outside the Press Club here against apathetic attitude of the PDP-BJP Government towards migrants that has accumulated their problems during the past over two years.
Led by Minority Cell President M K Yogi and Chairman Bushan Lal Bhat, the protesters cautioned the coalition Government against continued neglect of displaced people, saying that if the issues raised from time to time are not addressed earnestly, they will be forced to take to streets.
The organizers listed the issues and expressed anguish over delay in issuance of the new ration cards to migrants for the year 2017-18 and release of cash relief for March. They blamed the Government for releasing cash assistance at the end of the month that causes enormous hardships to recipients, who have no other source of income. They expressed concern over withholding the allocation of sugar quota for the migrant rationees.
Bushan Lal Bhat referred to the much hyped Prime Minister’s employment package for migrant youth and wondered over recruitment of just 2000 persons against the sanctioned strength of 6000 posts. He said many eligible youth have been rendered over-aged.
Yogi and Bhat also expressed concern over non-availability of examination hall for migrant students in Jagti. They also sought ambulance for the Jagti camp and laying of sports grounds for the overall growth of children.
Prominent among those who took part in the protests included Bal Krishan Bhat and Amit Koul, Vice Presidents, T K Koul, Harmohinder Singh, Sanjay Raina, Anil Kumar, S L Kar, Rakesh Pandita, Sunil Pandita, Dr. Sheikh Amina and others.
