SRINAGAR, May 15: Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) (Yuva) national spokesman, Sanjay Saraf, today said that National Conference had failed to correctly present the Jammu and Kashmir flood case before the Centre.
Addressing a press conference here today, Saraf charged NC of resorting to discrimination in relief distribution when it was in power. He said NC cadre received cheques worth Rs 12000 to Rs 75000 in Haba Kadal constituency while rest of the flood victims were doled out only Rs 3800. Saraf said it was pitiful that even flood victims were not spared during NC rule and demanded full investigation into wrong doings in flood relief distribution.
He held National Conference responsible for present economic crises in the State and said that NC has looted the state exchequer in every possible way to satisfy its own vested interests. He said that bills of contractors worth Rs 900 crores are pending and works on important projects have come to halt due to mismanagement by the NC.
Saraf appealed PDP-BJP coalition Government to release the salaries of all employees including daily wagers on priority basis.
While praising Chief Minister Mufti Sayeed industrial policy, Saraf hoped that the it will go in a long way to solve the burning unemployment problem in the State. He appealed the State Government to restart the steel plant in Lassipora, Pulwama which he said can provide employment to about two thousand people directly and indirectly.
