NC expresses solidarity with fire victims

SRINAGAR, Jan 13: National Conference provincial president, Nasir Aslam Wani, today expressed shock and grief over the loss of property in a devastating fire that broke out in Court Road area near Lal Chowk Srinagar in which over a dozen shops, two banks and a post office were burnt.
In a statement issued from party headquarters, former Minister, Nasir Aslam Wani, demanded immediate relief and rehabilitation for the fire victims. “Government should immediately provide relief to each affected shopkeeper and measures be also taken to rehabilitate the fire victims on war footing.”
He also impressed upon the State Government to send property assessment teams to the affected area and work out other modalities on fast track basis. He also stressed for medical treatment to those who have been injured in the fire incident and six months free ration and other essential commodities to the affected families. The statement added that Government should directed district administration to carry out immediate relief operation in the area.
Meanwhile, party General Secretary, Haji Ali Mohammad Sagar, today announced a relief of Rs 75000 each for two fire affected families of Hamabal Khanyar out of his Constituency Development Fund.
While asking district administration to ensure that the affected families are rehabilitated on fast track basis, Sagar said, “My heart goes to these families who have been rendered homeless when the valley is under the grip of extreme cold. It therefore is necessary to ensure that these families are provided with every facility available.”
He also impressed upon the State Government to provide six months free ration and other essential commodities to the affected families.
