NC, Cong destroyed J&K through corruption, nepotism: Yudhvir

Excelsior Correspondent
JAMMU, Jan 10: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) State general secretary, Yudhvir Sethi today lashed out at Congress and National Conference (NC) saying that their wrong policies not only encouraged corruption and nepotism in the State but also destroyed Jammu and Kashmir. “Youth were alienated, development done on selective basis, no policy was ever framed to reach out to masses and make them partners in development”, he added.
Yudhvir Sethi was addressing a workers gathering here, today along with Jammu Prabhari of the party, Jugal Dogra, distt presidents, Baldev Singh Billoria and Ayodhya Gupta in which Arun Sethi, Sunny Seghal along with their workers joined BJP.
Sethi in his address said after years of Governor rule when Congress and NC came to power they unleashed corrupt practices, encouraged loot and some of its ministers built mansions with public money and encroached upon State land and public places.
Sethi said almost all the departments were destroyed by corrupt practices and that’s the reason it took BJP Government to streamline everything for the convenience of people. The prevailing unrest in Kashmir Valley especially amongst youth is also because only a couple of families ruled Kashmir, built empires and didn’t care for general population.
The BJP leader said, Backdoor appointments, money exchanging hands, merit being ignored and almost negligible role in creation of jobs even in industrial sector were all major reasons for unrest in the State.
Jugal Dogra while welcoming the leaders in party fold said that actually these are the party functionaries who are returning to their own party. Whosoever had left the party at whatsoever post will be asked to work on same position and strengthen BJP at all levels.
Baldev Singh Billoria said that BJP is quite sensitive to people’s issues. He further asked party workers to gear up for coming elections both State as well as general and said the recent decision to reserve jobs for economically weaker sections from within upper castes was a long-standing demand but only the Modi Government had the courage to do it.
Corporators Anil Masoom, Gopal Mahajan, Sunita Koul, Ashok Gandhi, Kartar Mahajan, Ravi Singh, Chandan Mahajan and others were present on the occasion.
