JAMMU, Apr 15: The National Conference and BJP workers clashed during Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare Ghulam Nabi Azad’s rally at remote Dachchan area today after a BJP worker shouted slogans against Minister of State for Home Sajjad Ahmed Kitchloo blaming him for August 9, 2013 clashes in Kishtwar.
The BJP worked stood up when Azad was addressing the election rally at Dachchan this afternoon and started shouting slogans against Kitchloo, infuriating NC workers.
The NC workers thrashed the BJP worker in the rally, leading to chaos till police intervened and separated both the warring groups. The rally of Azad, the Congress candidate for Udhampur-Doda Lok Sabha seat, went on uninterruptedly as police whisked away the clashing youth.
SSP Kishtwar Sanjay Kotwal said the issue was later resolved between the two groups and so far no FIR has been lodged. However, he added, police was awaiting the report of Magistrate and, if required, the FIR would be lodged.
Mr Kotwal said there was no tension in the area as both the groups resolved the matter between themselves.
