JAMMU, Dec 31: Hindi play ‘Dur Se Kisi Ne Aawaaz Di’ was staged at Natrang Studio Theatre in Sunday Theatre Series, here today.
The play was written by Manjul Bhardwaj and directed by Neeraj Kant.
On the occasion, Director Natrang Balwant Thakur informed that during the year 2017 Natrang created a history by holding a record number of 105 events and programmes which is a history.
“Amongst the historic accomplishments, Natrang’s most outstanding actor Vikrant Sharma created a history for being the first Actor from the state of Jammu & Kashmir to receive Yuva Bismillah Khan Award for Acting. Shivam Singh of Natrang also brought laurels for receiving the National Scholarship in theatre lighting,” Thakur said.
The play very efficiently presented the gruesome picture of the society where because of their vested interests, the shrewd opportunists make the masses kill each other on the name of religion, region, caste and race etc. On the death of every human being, humanity bleeds and their condition deteriorates. The brunt of mindless riots and its nefariously related incidents were exemplified in the play. Just to fulfil the greed of the evil people, thousands of innocent people lose their lives, thousands of the houses are put to flames and hundreds of the girls are molested and the most ironic part of this tragedy is that all this happens on the name of religion which always preaches peace, humanity, brotherhood and co-existence. The non-conventional character of ‘Humanity’ was played by Brijesh Avtar Sharma, he was supported by the young actors of Natrang which included Meenakshi Bhagat, Aafaque Khan, Manoj Kumar, Ajay Kumar, Mohd. Umar, Toyab Hussain, Zeeshan Haidar, Surjeet Pal Singh, Sushant Singh, Aarti Devi and Redhem Sharma.
The lights were designed and operated by Shivam Singh and the music was designed by Brijesh Avtar Sharma and scored by Bhisham Gupta who also did the presentations.
The show was coordinated by Mohd Yaseen.
