Natrang presents Hindi play ‘Aandolan’

JAMMU, Feb 16:  “Aandolan”, a play in Hindi written by Harsharan Singh and directed by Neeraj Kant was staged here today at Natrang Studio Theatre in its weekly Sunday Theatre Series.
The play carried a very relevant social massage which was presented in a comprehensive manner. The play presents the situation of a protest from the point of view of different sections of society.
In the play Aandolan, some women are protesting against the killing of women by her husband, they are demanding stern actions against him so are protesting with full might. This situation is presented before the audience from the perspective of a neighborhood home, where a family and some uninvited guests give their own take on the situation.
The lady in the home has concern about the situation but wants to support the cause sitting at home only, her husband is enjoying the situation as from his window he could see the protest. Even some media person comes to their home to get a better view of the location from the top window.
A leader also comes so that she could make a speech from there so as people know she is also with them so as to get political benefit. The protest in the play could be linked with any other protest where different people take it differently and those who seek mileage from it may not be even aware of the real cause.
Natrang actors who acted in the play include Syed Mudassar, Anita Dhar, Ashwani Bali, Sakshi Parkash, Vanshika Gupta, Vishal Sharma and Rajan Thakyal.
Lights were designed and executed by Neeraj Kant and the music was rendered by Mahikshit Singh. The show was coordinated by Sumeet Sharma.
