Natrang organises Winter Children Theatre Workshop

JAMMU, Jan 5 : The first Sunday of the year 2014 witnessed a very vibrant presentation of a bouquet of performances by children in Natrang’s Sunday Theatre Series which also entered in its 10th year.
Balwant Thakur, Director Natrang while welcoming the slect gathering informed that a nine-day long Winter Children’s Theatre Camp was organised by Natrang to provide a fun and highly professional learning opportunity to the children
In nine days, the participating children had the occasion to go through most developed methodologies of self-exploration. He further informed that Natrang is starting a ‘Children Weekend Club’ in which they will be trained every Saturday and Sunday for two hours each and will have the occasion to witness theatre every Sunday as well. Sumeet Sharma, a recipient of National Award for theatre direction was the workshop director who was assisted by Aarushi Thakur, Rahul Singh, Mohd. Yaseen and Mahikshit Singh Sambyal. The concluding functioned was held at Red Cross Auditorium and the prominent among those who witnessed the show included Ajeet Kumar Sahu, DC, Jammu, Sheetal Nanda, Shahida Praveen.
Today’s performance was an assorted bouquet of different short stories of different genres. All of them were chosen by the children themselves and selected on the basis of their relevance to them, either direct or indirect. As they were taught to express their feelings and speak their minds, they enacted 8 different stories which carried humour, moral, learning, emotions, compassion, drama and spontainty. The short plays which were featured included ‘The Talent’, ‘Catch the Thief’, ‘Gopi ki Gaye’, ‘Birbal ki Khichadi’, ‘The Winters’, ‘Reality Show’, ‘Save Trees’ and ‘The Best Friends’.
