JAMMU, July 20: Natrang honoured the pride of Jammu Vrinda Gujral for winning the 1st runner-up position in country’s most popular TV show Sabse Bada Kalakaar here today at Abhinav Theatre Jammu.
The honours were done by Dr Nirmal Singh, Deputy Chief Minister and Priya Sethi, Minister of State for Education, Culture, Tourism, Horticulture, Floriculture and Parks, who were joined by Mamta Singh and Director Natrang Balwant Thakur.
This grand function also marked the valedictory of Natrang’s four-day Children Theatre festival ‘Celebrating Childhood’ and the felicitation of yet another proud talent of Jammu Satyam Mehra who reached to the remarkable top ten of the country in addition to Sixty Two young dynamic talents of Natrang.
Welcoming the jam-packed audience at Abhinav Theatre, Natrang Director Padamshree Balwant Thakur dwelt in details about the Natrang initiatives in taking Jammu to world heights. He also pointed out that despite Jammu having best of the talent of the country, lacks appreciation and encouragement. Successive Governments also missed the opportunity to come forward and reward such kind of accomplishments of Jammu’s unmatched brilliance.
Speaking on the occasion Priya Sethi assured all possible help from the Government to Natrang and wished young talents a great career ahead.
The chief guest, Dr Nirmal Singh, appreciated the accomplishments of Jammu’s young talents and assured that the cultural development in the State will receive top priority of the Government. He credited Natrang Director Balwant Thakur for bringing a new cultural renaissance in the State through his selfless efforts and initiatives.
Star of the evening talent Vrinda Gujral of Natrang started her acting career from Natrang’s children theatre workshops about four years ago and later got selected for Natrang’s blockbusters like ‘Mere Hisse Ki Dhoop Kahan Hai’ and ‘Aap Hamare Hain Kaun’ both written and directed by Balwant Thakur. In Natrang, Vrinda has already won accolades for her outstanding performances in various National Theatre Festivals held in Chandigarh, Delhi and Bhopal. Yet another proud talent of Jammu Satyam Mehra born to Anju Bala and Jatinder Mehra is also a product of Natrang workshops and later promoted to play one of the lead role in the play ‘School Days’ under the direction of Sumeet Sharma.
