National Education Day celebrated with zeal, zest

JAMMU, Nov 11: Various Educational Institutions across Jammu celebrated National Education Day with zeal and zest, today.
IQAC of Govt MAM College Jammu organized Inter-College ‘3rd Annual Maulana Abul Kalam Azad Rolling Trophy Symposium Contest to celebrate the National Education Day today.
The programme commenced with the lighting of the  traditional lamp and floral tributes to Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, the first Education Minister of Independent India.
Students besides city colleges presented their views from GDC Kilhotrian, Thannamandi, Mendhar, Billawar, Gool etc.
Prof. Anju Bhasin, Vice Chancellor of the Cluster University of Jammu was Chief Guest on the occasion.
In her address she shared with the students the importance of National Education Policy in relevance with the developing digital world.
Seerat Baji of GCW Gandhi Nagar, Mehula Khajuria of GCET Jammu and Danish Bashir of GDC Thannamandi Rajouri were adjudged 1st, 2nd and 3rd respectively by the jury members including Prof Vijay Kotwal, Prof. Mohd. Assadullah Wani, both former Principals and Dr. Ashok Gupta of Department of Hindi, University of Jammu.
The welcome address was presented by Dr. Ajeet Angral Principal of the College, while the vote of thanks was presented by Dr Rakesh Kumar Koul, Coordinator IQAC.
Manya Langar and Ujala Mahajan conducted the proceedings of the programme.
Govt PG College today celebrated National Education Day in the College Campus today.
The programme was organized by the College Cultural and Literary Committee comprising of Prof. Mohd Iqbal Raina and Dr Mohd Saleem Wani.
Principal of the college Prof. Javed Ahmed Qazi in his address described Maulana Abul-kalam Azad as Imam-e-Hind.
The welcome address was presented by Dr Mohd Saleem Wani, while the vote of thanks was presented by Prof Abdul Karim.
To celebrate the National Education Day, Govt Degree College Dharmari organized a Programme commemorating the birth anniversary of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad-the first Education Minister of Independent India.
Dr Tilak Raj Sharma, Principal of the College was the chief guest on this occasion whereas Prof. Khalid Sajad Bohra, Department of History, presided over the Function.
On this occasion Prof. Altaf Hussain, Department of Education, gave an impressive poster presentation on the life and Educational philosophy of  Maulana Abul Kalam Azad.
Govt. Degree College Thannamandi celebrated National Education Day by organizing a Regional Seminar on “Education Scenario of Pir Panjal Region.”
Principal of the College, Prof (Dr.) Shakeel Ahmed Raina presided over the function, while chief guest was Mohd Nazeer Qureishi, and guest of honour , Mohd. Iqbal Shawl, both eminent educationists.
Welcome address was presented by Dr Arun Sharma, while vote of thanks was given by Prof Shaji Khan.
The programme was compared by Programme In-charge, Prof. Rizwan Ahmed Khan.
A colorful function was organized at Govt Higher Secondary School Garhi to to commemorate the Birth Anniversary of Maulana Abdul-Kalam Azad. MLA Udhampur, Pawan Kumar Gupta was the chief guest whereas District Development Commissioner Udhampur, Ravinder Kumar was the guest of honour on the occasion. Som Raj Suryavanshi, Principal DIET Kud was the special guest.
Earlier, Sunil Sharma, Principal presented welcome address.
The proceedings of the programme were conducted by Ranjana, Lecturer in IP, while Atul Kashap Lecturer in Botany presented the vote of thanks.
Sunrise Public School, a Unit of Sunrise Educational Trust, Channi Himmat Jammu organized National Education Day at school campus on the eve of 125th Birth Anniversary of Maulana Abdul Kalam Azad.
Rajesh Sharma, Trustee was the chief guest on the occasion.
To celebrate National Education Day, the Department of Botany, GCW, Parade organized one day workshop on ‘Wild Edible Plants’ in collaboration with Department of Ecology and Remote Sensing, J&K. Workshop was inaugurated by Dr Hemla Agarwal, Principal of the college. O. P. Sharma ‘Vidyarthi’, Director Department of Ecology and Remote Sensing J&K Govt.,  was the resource person on this occasion. Prof. Seema Kotwal HOD, Department of Botany presented the welcome address.
Dr Shallu Samyal, Prof. Ganjeet Singh, Dr Bachan Lal, Dr Anuradha Pandoh, Dr Anju Koul, MS Bharti, Ruhi Sharma and Sakshi Bhushan worked exhaustively to make this workshop a success.
