JAMMU Feb 27: National Conference President Dr Farooq Abdullah on Tuesday lauded expansion of quality education, especially at the basic level, saying this is crucially important for shaping the academic orientation of children.
Dr Farooq Abdullah was speaking at the 15th Annual Day of   Narulas The First Step School at Teachers Bhawan, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu this morning.
Dr. Farooq Abdullah complimented the management, faculty and staff for their endeavours and hoped that they will strive hard to achieve the objective of imparting quality education.
He appreciated the programme presented on the occasion and appreciated the theme conceptualized. He congratulated the organizers for their effort.
Dr Abdullah was the chief guest at the Prize Distribution function.
Prominent among those present on the occasion included Provincial President Devender Singh Rana, former DGP and Chief Vigilance Commissioner, Kuldeep Khoda,  Provincial Youth National Conference President Ajaz Jan, Advisor for Youth Affairs & Sports, Govt. of Lakshadweep and Vice Chairman Sports Council,  Ranjit Kalra, Bureau Chief, Times Now  Pradeep Dutta Bureau Chief, Times Now and State General Secretary of J&K, Pradesh Congress Committee Shahnawaz Choudhary .
The programme was based on “Evolution of Life” according to Hindu mythology And “Save the planet Earth”.  The programme started with heart throbbing Shiv Aradhna, depicted evolution of life through performances on songs like Animal World, Jungle Jungle Baat Chali hai & Mere Desh ki Dharti.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Tanvi Narula, Principal of the School.
