Nanda reviews development scenario in Reasi

REASI, June 5: Minister of State for Finance, Planning, Law and Justice Ajay Nanda today convened a meeting to review the pace of various developmental works in the district and asked the concerned authorities for their completion in a fixed time frame.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner Prasanna Ramaswamy G, ADDC Ramesh Chander, DFO, PO ICDS, ACD, ACR, Executive Engineers PDD, PHE, PMGSY, other district officers and all Tehsildars.
Taking a serious note of the complaints regarding disruptions in power and drinking water supply, Minister directed the concerned to ensure regulated supply to consumers.
Minister also directed the PHE authorities to set up round the clock control rooms where people can register complaints for redressal. He directed linking of these control rooms with toll free Helpline number for district-wide reach and better responsiveness. He directed constitution of a similar mechanism in PDD.
While reviewing the working of Forest Department, the Minister issued strict instructions to the DFO as well as to the field staff to take strict measures to combat forest fires and also directed them to keep a check and identify elements who may be indulging in forests fire for ulterior motives.
He directed the officials to submit DPR report for development of parks at Dera Banda, Vijaypur and Kansi Patta at an earliest so that the work can be started. Emphasizing on the need for sustainable development without harming ecology, flora and fauna of the area, the Minister directed the concerned officials for taking action against people involved in harming ecology and environment.
During the meeting, MoS also reviewed progress made under various centrally sponsored schemes including MGNREGA, IAY,and PMGSY, besides implementation of Chief Minister’s directions during her visits to the district.
He directed the concerned to ensure timely completion of all the works taken up under convergence with MGNREGA, besides PHE and Irrigation & Flood Control Department projects.
