MVD starts home delivery of driving licences

JAMMU, July 11: In furtherance of the online initiative of the Motor Vehicles Department (MVD) to promote the concept of Digital India, RTO Jammu Deep Raj handed over 181 driving licences to the Postal Department for their home delivery.
The Department has already signed MoU with Postal Department for home delivery of licences and the service was started today formally by handing over the driving licences to provide the facilities to the public at their door step so that they do not face inconvenience of coming to RTO office to collect their driving licences.
Besides facilitating the service seeker it will also eliminate the exploitation of the innocent applicants at the hands of unscrupulous persons if any.
The service has been started as pilot basis in Jammu and Srinagar districts by the Government which will be replicated in other districts soon and may cover other services being provided by the Department.
The Department advises the applicants to fill their address particulars and correctly along with pin code so that no inconvenience is faced to deliver the driving licences to them.
