MVD organises painting competition for school children

JAMMU, Apr 26: As part of 29th National Road Safety Week, Motor Vehicle Department today organised painting competition for school children at Kala Kendra in collaboration with Academy of Art, Culture and Languages with 92.7 Big FM as media partner.
The event was inaugurated by Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Hemant Sharma.
More than 700 students from different schools participated in the painting competition. The children were divided into three categories of 6-11 years, 12-14 years and 15-18 years of age and were given the topic of effects of vehicles population on nature and human lives or traffic violation and safety norms.
They were evaluated by Sanjay Sharma Professor, Vijay Anand famous artist and Harminder Singh Additional Secretary Academy of Art, Culture and Languages was Jurists member.
Divisional Commissioner appreciated the efforts of the department in organising the painting competition at such a mega level to inculcate the habit of Road Safety rules through tender minds and was pleased with fine arts displayed by the young mind.
Transport Commissioner, Saugat Biswas briefed about the weeklong programme being organised by department in connection with celebration of 29th National Road Safety Week. He lauded the efforts of school management in bringing the school children for the painting competition and supplementing by the actions of Department on Road Safety. Big 92.7 who was media partner in the event also interacted with students through their group head Vikrant and MJ Juhi and Monika.
The Jurists after consolidating all the painting declared the winners and runner in all three categories who will be awarded in award ceremony being held by department on 30th April 2018.
RTO Jammu, Deep Raj thanked all the participants, Teachers, Academy of Art, Culture and Languages and Jurists for making the programme a grand success.
Mohinder Singh Additional Transport Commissioner, Arun Manhas ADC Jammu, ARTOs, MVI and other staff members were also present on the occasion.
