Muzaffer wins 4th JK Bank Run for Shahr-e-Khaas

Srinagar, Apr 23: Muzaffer Maqbool of Budgam cruised to victory in the 4th JK Bank Run for Shahr-E-Khaas held from TRC ground to Islamia College Hawal here on Wednesday.
The highly popular event among athletes of the Valley saw around 1533 participants taking part in it. The event was flagged off by Deputy-Commissioner Srinagar, Farooq Ahmad Shah along with JK Bank executive president and chairman Sports Board, Abdul Hamid Banday.
From early morning, players from different parts of Valley had started to assemble at TRC ground. The participants mostly included from Srinagar city. However, it also saw players coming from far-off areas like, Baramulla, Kulgam, Kupwara , Islamabad, Budgam and Magam.
In senior category, Muzaffer Maqbool of Budgam finally cruised to victory in his fourth attempt in the run while as Tanveer Hussain of JK Bank making his comeback took second place. Hamid of Islamia College finished third. Manan of Dama Sports Club Sopore in his debut finished fourth while as M Saleem of Chinar Sports Club Magam finished fifth.
In junior, category, Zubair, Parveez and Adil all from Chinar Sports Club Magam finished first, second and third respectively. It was no surprise any one to see Chinar Sports dominated the run as they have going through hard training stuff recently. For their dominance, Chinar Sports was awarded Team champions trophy.
The event is being organized by J&K Sports Development Association (JKSDA) from last four years with the aim to highlight Old City heritage and talent.
