Muted demand drags down refined soya oil futures by 0.33%

NEW DELHI, Aug 13: Refined soya oil prices slipped by 0.33 per cent to Rs 735 per 10 kg in futures market today as speculators cut bets, taking negative cues from spot market on easing demand.
Besides, adequate stocks position on increased supplies from growing regions, too, weighed on soya prices.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, refined soya oil for delivery in September declined by Rs 2.40, or 0.33 per cent, to Rs 735 per 10 kg with an open interest of 43,240 lots.
Similarly, the oil for delivery in August was weakened by Rs 2.10, or 0.28 per cent, to Rs 735.20 per 10 kg in 11,760 lots.
Analysts attributed the fall in refined soya oil prices in futures trade to cutting down of positions by participants due to eased demand in the physical markets. (PTI)
