Murder plot foiled, 2 notorious criminals arrested with sharp edged weapons

JAMMU, Feb 9: Swift action by Gharota police foiled a murder plot with the arrest of two notorious criminals along with two sharp edged weapons ‘tokas’.
As per police sources, based on reliable information, a team from Gharota police station raised a naka near Central Jail at Kot Bhalwal and signaled a motorcycle bearing registration number JK02BF-7429 coming from Jammu to Kot Bhalwal to stop for checking.
On seeing police cops, the rider accelerated the bike and escaped from the spot. Stinking something fishy, the cops chased and intercepted the motorcycle near some distance from the naka point.
During checking, police recovered two sharp edged weapons ‘tokas’ from the possession of rider and pillion rider and arrested them.
The accused have been identified as Amit Saini, son of Saudagar Mal of Jeevan Nagar and Vikas Majotra alias Sonu, son of Tilak Raj of Nai Basti.
During questioning, the duo disclosed the names of their associates having pistol, who were riding on another motorcycle and managed to escape from the spot. They have been identified as Avneet Singh alias Negi, son of Vikram Singh and Harvinder Singh alias Jannu, son of Tarvinder, both residents of RS Pura.
All of them were on their way to eliminate one Shahid Hussain alias Raju, son of Ahmed Hussain of Channi who along with his father had came to meet his brother Saddam Hussain, who was lodged in Central Jail at Kot Bhalwal in murder case.
A case under FIR Number 14/17 under Section 4/25 Arms Act and 120-B and 115 RPC has been registered in this regard at police station Gharota and further investigation into the case is going on.
Police team led by SHO Gharota SI Suchinder Pal made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO Akhnoor Gurvinder Pal Singh and SP Rural Arun Gupta.
