Murder accused evading arrest for 3 years nabbed

KATHUA, Feb 12: Kathua Police has achieved a major success in arresting one more murder accused who was absconding along three other accused persons involved in a sensational murder case which was committed in 2014.
According to police in 2014 a sensational murder took place at Govindsar near here in a dispute between two groups of truck union. A FIR under number 327/2014 under section 302/307/147/148/149/RPC 3/25 Arm Act was registered at P/S Kathua against nine accused persons including the then president of the Union Kuldeep Sing @ Kingu. Six accused persons were arrested by the police while three were at large. However, police was on look out of the three absconders. Its hot pursuit yielded results as one more absconder was arrested by Kathua Police team led by incharge P/S Kathua Inspector Sarbjeet Singh under the supervision of SSP Kathua, Pawan Parihar.
Police said the murder accused Manjit Singh alias Sunki S/o Bhagat Singh of Rajbagh Tehsil Hiranagar and district Kathua was arrested when he tried to enter the State at Lakhanpur late last night.
He had concealed himself in a cabin of the truck so that police could not trace him. The senior officers had appreciated the role of police team and recommended them for suitable reward.
