Srinagar, Feb 22: Multiple protests broke out in South Kashmir’s Anantnag district against the implementation of National Food Security Act (NFSA) in the State and demanded its roll back.
The CPI (M) workers took out a protest march from Achabal Adda to Lal Chowk against the NFSA implementation. The protesters termed the Act as anti-people and said that the Government should revoke it from the State. The protest ended peacefully.
Another protest was staged by women at Janglat Mandi in Anantnag Town against the NFSA implementation and demanded that the ration should be given to people as per previous scale. They, the women protesters, argued that the Act is not “feasible” for the people of Valley and asked Government to immediately revoke it.
