MSDE inks pact to scale up entrepreneurship education

NEW DELHI, Feb 23:  The Skill Development Ministry today signed a pact with Wadhwani Foundation to scale up entrepreneurship education in colleges and secondary schools under the Pradhan Mantri Yuva Udyamita Vikas Abhiyaan.
The Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) signed a Contribution Agreement with the Wadhwani Operating Foundation to provide entrepreneurship education to secondary and post-secondary students as well as in colleges.
The Central and state governments have been engaged in initiatives to integrate entrepreneurship in curriculum of schools and institutions of higher education.
With this partnership, the ministry will be able to provide support in a more organised and structured manner, and on a larger scale for different entrepreneurial-led initiatives of the government, a statement said.
“We are now engaging with schools for skilling and entrepreneurship. We are trying to reach out to urban along with rural areas. We have entrepreneurship courses and this initiative will add value to it,” Union Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Minister Rajiv Pratap Rudy said at an event here.
The Wadhwani Foundation will provide cloud based interactive e-content for entrepreneurship training under the initiative.
“We have developed highly interactive online multi-media content to massively scale entrepreneurship education and exposure in India,” said Ajay Kela, President and CEO, Wadhwani Operating Foundation. (PTI)
