JAMMU, Nov 29: The J&K unit of Muslim Rasthtriya Manch (MRM) today held a protest against anti-national statements of NC president, Farooq Abdullah and Bollywood actor, Reshi Kapoor.
Scores of activists of state unit of MRM today assembled near Press Club, Jammu and raised slogans against Farooq Abdullah and Reshi Kapoor. They also burnt the effigies of Farooq and Reshi Kapoor.
The protesting members of MRM deplored and condemned Farooq’s recent statement in which he said that PoK belongs to Pakistan and India cannot claim on it. They also slammed actor Reshi Kapoor for supporting the Farooq’s anti-national statement.
Terming Farooq a treason, the activists said, “India is birthplace of Dr APJ Kalam and Swami Vivekananda and there is no space for anti-nationals”. They advised Farooq to go to Pakistan and spent rest of his life there.
They said, “Pakistan had occupied territory forcibly in 1947-48 in J&K. There are 24 seats in Vidhan Sabha and these seats are still vacant in the house. Even Abdullah family which ruled the State did not make any change in the status of the vacant seats.”
The protesting activists demanded that these vacant seats of the representatives of people of PoK should be fulfilled either by conducting elections or through nominations.
Those participated in the protest were Gulshan Kumar (organizational secretary), Manzoor Hussain (Jammu province president), Mumtaza begum (Jammu province president for women wing), Ghulam Nabi Khan (State secretary) and others.
