Motorcyclist killed, three injured in road mishaps

JAMMU, Mar 19: A motorcyclist was killed while three others were injured today in separate road mishaps in city outskirts.
According to a police spokesman, a man identified as Garu Ram son of Baldev Raj, resident of New Plot (Jammu), sustained serious injuries when a bike bearing registration number JK02AH-2915 which he was riding, hit by an unknown vehicle at Gadigarh, late this morning.
“The injured man was immediately rushed to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu, where he succumbed to his injuries at about 1.20 PM”, the spokesman said, adding, after completing all medico-legal formalities the body of the deceased was handed over to his legal heirs for last rites. He said that the concerned police had registered a case in this connection and started investigations.
A youth identified as Vijay Singh (30) son of Satpal, resident of Dharia, was injured when the bike on which he was travelling, hit by a speeding bus at Khour. A rashly driven unknown vehicle hit a car at Nagrota and injured two occupants of the car. The injured were identified as Rajesh (24) and Arun (24), residents of Prem Nagar (Jammu). All the injured were hospitalized. In both cases, the concerned police had taken cognizance.
