JAMMU, Oct 11: A motorcyclist was killed today in a road mishap in Kanachak area of city outskirts.
According to a police official, a youth identified as Dinesh Kumar (31) son of Dalip Singh, resident of Uttar Pradesh, was travelling on his bike this evening when a rashly driven unknown vehicle hit his two-wheeler on Jammu-Akhnoor road near Gumpul in Dummi area.
The motorcyclist sustained serious injuries in the mishap and was immediately rushed to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu, where he expired during treatment after a while.
The body of the deceased was shifted to mortuary room of the hospital for post mortem while Kanachak police had registered a case in this connection and started investigations.
