More than 18,000 pilgrims pay obeisance at Machail Mata shrine

JAMMU, Aug 22: More than 18,000 pilgrims paid obeisance at the sacred shrine of Machail Mata taking the total pilgrimage to over 2 lakh since its commencement. The holy mace (Charri Mubarak) also reached the revered shrine this evening.
As per official data, a total of 2,09,021 pilgrims including 89627 males, 77107 females, 42152 children and 135 sadhus have paid obeisance at the shrine till date since the commencement of Yatra on July 25, 2018. Around 18,151 pilgrims paid obeisance at the sacred shrine of Machail Mata today.
The number will increase considerably in the coming days as huge number of pilgrims are reaching Kishtwar and Gulabgarh, the base camp of the shrine, everyday.
Meanwhile, thousand of devotees including women and children accompanied the Charri Mubarak from Chisoti to sacred shrine of Chandi Mata.
It is worthwhile to mention that this year, local people of Kishtwar and its adjoining areas have voluntarily arranged langars and other facilities for the pilgrims at maximum number of halting points.
