More organizations appeal for peace

JAMMU, Feb 18: More organizations have appealed the Government to take drastic steps for restoration of peace in the J&K State and deal strictly with anti national elements and adopt offensive measures against the terrorism and Pakistan.
To pay homage to martyrs of Pulwama attack, Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) Jammu Chapter held a Shradhanjali Samaroh at Gole Market Gandhi Nagar here, today.
Various traders, besides people from all walks of life paid floral tributes and also lit candles while praying for peace to the departed souls. Neeraj Anand national vice president, CAIT and president, CTF, while speaking condemned the attack.
The meeting observed that rumor mills have been kept active by the forces inimical to peace and brotherhood of Jammu Dogras but people should refrain from falling in trap. The supreme sacrifice made by son of the soil and brave Dogra Nasir Ahmed from Rajouri is a case in point that we all are one people, added Neeraj Anand.
Peoples Democratic Party (PDP ) while appealing the people to maintain peace, today urged the Government to ensure protection of rights of people of J&K State. In a statement party’s chief spokesman, Rafi Ahmed Mir said that aftermath of Pulwama incident has shown signs of violence and misunderstanding due to which the common masses have suffered. He said that the Centre Government should ensure that the secular fabric of the country is upheld. He also appealed the Governor that the rights of the people of Kashmir should not be jeopardized.
To pay tributes to CRPF martyrs, a candle march was taken out by Congress and Youth Congress leaders under the leadership of former MLA and senior Congress leader, Ashok Sharma at Kalakote in Rajouri district today.
Sharma, while expressing his anguish over the gruesome attack by terrorists on CRPF jawans demanded befitting reply be given to enemy. He prayed for the peace of departed souls.
Chanting slogans of Bharat Mata Ki Jai, Vande Matram and Hindustan Zindabad, Mahasha Biradari of Dogra Hall led by Jai Dev Rajwal took out a candle light procession in the wake of Pulwama terror attack in which over 44 brave hearts of CRPF attained martyrdom on Thursday.
Hundreds of people belonging to Masha community gathered at Dogra Hall and lit up candles as a mark of respect to CRPF personnel who attained martyrdom in suicide bomber attack while their convoy was on their way from Jammu to Srinagar. Rajwal said that in this hour of grief and sorrow Masha Biradri stands firm with bereaved families. Passing through Dogra Hall, the candle light procession culminated at Brig Rajinder Singh, Chowk Rotary.
Ex Sarpanch and social activist Nana Ji Raina convened a condolence meeting at Sharda Colony, Patoli Brahmanah in which rich tributes were paid to CRPF martyrs and four army personnel who laid down their lives in Pulwama encounter today. Raina, while lauding the role of Jammu people who maintained peace and brotherhood in the aftermath of the Pulwama attack said Jammu has always stood the test of time in maintaining peace and amity despite provocations for which they deserve all appreciation. He said it is not Kashmir but Jammu where the ray of hope still exists.
Prem Singh, spokesman of We The Human-Forum for Nature and Mankind has appealed the district administration to arrest the hooligans, anti social and anti national elements who tried to vitiate , otherwise the peaceful and harmonious environment of Jammu since last Friday.
In a statement issued here, today he said all such mischievous elements, belonging to any religion, region or group should be put behind the bars, which is necessary to restore peace and sense of security among the masses.
A huge Mashaal rally was taken out in the evening in Udhampur under the leadership of NPP State president , Balwant Singh Mankotia which passed through main bazaars of the town braving heavy down pour.
Mankotia, while talking to media said NPP is continuously on roads demanding that Pakistan be declared as terrorist nation. He said people of Udhampur as well as entire nation will not tolerate any kind of such attack in future. Large number of people including party activists and senior leaders participated in the rally.
Strongly condemning the attack on valiant CRPF personnel, Anna Hazare Anti Corruption Movement J&K Unit while demanding that befitting reply be given to anti national elements as well as Pakistan has appealed the people of Jammu region to maintain peace and uphold the high traditions of amity, tranquility, harmony and brotherhood. Tarun Uppal Core Committee member of the Movement said the enemy wants unrest to prevail in the State and by resorting to uncalled for protests and damages to the properties we will give the hostile neighbor enough fodder to play with the dirty games and take advantage of this situation. Raising serious concern over terror attack Uppal said time has come to give befitting reply to Pakistan.
To express solidarity with families of martyrs Mahila Congress under the leadership of Pradesh Mahila Congress, leader Indu Pawar took out a candle light procession at Jewan Nagar this evening. Large number of activists of Mahila Congress joined the march holding candles in their hands.
In her address Indu Pawar said that entire nation is behind their families. She said countrymen should remain united this time to frustrate the designs of anti national forces.
The activists of Jammu Kashmir People’s Front held a condolence meeting at Dogra Nagar near here under the leadership of Satish Poonchi its chairman, in which people were asked to maintain peace and brotherhood for which Jammu is renowned. Poonchi, while lauding the role of Jammuites for not falling a prey to the designs of anti social elements said they deserve all praise for the same. Poonchi, while paying rich tributes to CRPF martyrs and army jawans who laid down their lives in Pulwama anti terror operations today asked the Government to take a drastic action against the terrorists as entire nation is with Government at this juncture and will endorse the same.
BJP Kheer Bhawani Mandal, president, Vijay Raina organized a candle light procession from Laxmi Palace to Bohri Chowk in which hundreds of children ladies and gents carrying candles in their hands participated. They were chanting the slogans like “Indian Army Agey Bado hum tumhare Saath hain” (Indian Army march ahead we are with you).Two minutes silence was also observed in memory of martyrs.
