Modi pens down a book on corrupt practices of Lalu, says it is “Lalu Leela”

PATNA, Oct 11: The continued diatribe Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi against RJD chief Lalu Prasad and his family members for more than one year reached a new high today when a book “Lalu Leela” penned down by Mr Modi was released.
In his book Mr Modi writes about the corrupt practices of the Mr Prasad using many new modus operandies to amass huge assets. The release of the book coincides with the birth anniversary of veteran socialist Jaiprakash Narain.
Mr Modi while speaking at function organised here to launch his book “Lalu Leela”, said he had made efforts to enlighten the public about the series of corrupt practices of RJD chief Mr Prasad throughout his long political career, which he had adpoted to amass huge assets disproportionate to his known sources of income. It was also surprising that Mr Prasad had also innovated several modus operandies to cover up his corrupt practices from public glare and various investigating agencies including Income Tax, CBI and Enforcement Directorate, he said quoting from his book.
“Lalu in his initial years of becoming Chief Minister used to tell stories in public about the poverty of his parents and elder brother who was a peon in veterinary college in Patna, but in a very short span of time, he and his family members became owner of huge assets,” Mr Modi said, adding that he had demystified all hooks and crooks used by Mr Prasad in amassing huge assets.
Deputy Chief Minister lamented that Mr Prasad used his political career for amassing assets using unfair means. It was not so easy to expose the corrupt practices of Mr Prasad as the story which began from soil scam got stringed with accepting a plot of 3.5 acres by him in lieu of awarding contract to a particular private company for running Railway hotels, when he was Railway Minister and the scam was popularly called as Railway Hotel tender scam, he added.
