NAGPUR, Mar 3: Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER), MoS PMO, Personnel, Public Grievances, Pensions, Atomic Energy and Space, Dr Jitendra Singh said here today that the Government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi is relentlessly reaching out to the last man in the last queue and after completion of over two-and-a-half years of its term, there is an evident vindication of the commitment made by Prime Minister Modi soon after he took over, that his government is dedicated to the poor and the downtrodden.
Addressing the inaugural session of two-day conclave of “Bharatiya Pratiraksha Mazdoor Sangh” here today, Dr Jitendra Singh said, a number of recent decisions like Remonetization have abundantly proved that this is a government which accords highest priority to the welfare of those who had either been neglected or left out of preference in the past. He said, those of our opponents who hitherto labeled the BJP as a party of the rich and elite are now feeling rattled precisely for the reason that more and more number from among the poorest of the poor sections of the Indian society are rallying around the BJP-led government because they have great expectation and hope in a series of revolutionary welfare schemes and programmes initiated by Prime Minister Modi.
Under the inspiration of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Dr Jitendra Singh said, the government has oriented itself to address the basic and more fundamental public issues, which had earlier remained unattended. This is also, he said, a befitting tribute to the ideals of Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya and his concept of “Antyodaya” at a time when the country is observing his centenary year.
Lauding the role of “Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh” and its affiliated organizations, Dr Jitendra Singh said, they have, in recent times, played a significant role in bringing awareness among the people about how to avail of some of PM Modi’s revolutionary schemes like “Jan Dhan Yojana”, “Fasal Bima Yojana”, “Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Yojana”, etc. He said, the role of such organizations is no longer confined only to safeguard the interests of the labour class, but also to ensure that the benefits of the Government reach every strata of society. He also referred to the Modi government’s decision to raise the minimum wage limit and to address some of the other pending demands pertaining to the working and the labour class.
It is because of the path-breaking initiatives of the government, Dr Jitendra Singh said, that even people living in the remotest parts of the country have started receiving attention and a mechanism has been evolved at ground-level to empower them without intimidating or intruding hassles in between by, for example, putting emphasis on DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer) arrangement for MGNREGA and other sections of workers.
