Model Villages Cluster for RS Pura soon: Dr Gagan Bhagat

JAMMU, Feb 5: Member Legislative Assembly (MLA) RS Pura Dr Gagan Bhagat laid foundation stone for the construction of lane and drain from Panchayat Gagian with an estimated cost of Rs 4 lakh.
On the occasion, Dr Gagan Bhagat also visited different wards of Panchayat Gagian and listened to the issues raised by the people.
He assured the people that all their genuine issues will be redressed at the earliest and on priority basis.
Dr Gagan Bhagat directed the concerned officials of Rural Development Department to expedite works and involve the locals in the developmental process.
“I am working of establishing Model Villages Cluster for RS Pura under the BADP Scheme and the project report has been submitted to the Union Government for approval”, he added.
Later, the locals raised the demands including replacement of electric wires, transformers and improvement of drainage system of the said Panchayat and its villages.
MLA apprised the people that the replacement of electric wires and transformers by PDD will be taken up in couple of weeks and assured them that all the improvement, augmentation and replacement works will be completed before March 31 this year.
Later, a meeting of BJP workers was held at village Railway Line Gagian. While addressing the gathering, Dr Gagan Bhagat said that now after successfully wining Parliamentary and Assembly elections in the State, it is now turn to strengthen the democracy at grass root level by winning the coming Panchayati elections. He added that the party workers should interact with people and apprise them that the pending works in their villages and Panchayats will be completed very soon.
On the issue of street lights in the villages, Dr Gagan said CFL/Sodium streetlights in the villages and municipal wards of RS Pura Constituency would be replaced with LED lights under the UJALA Scheme, which would not only improve lighting on lanes of the villages at night, but will reduce electricity consumption.
Among others present were Kundan Lal Sharma, BJP Mandal Pradhan, Natharam, Rakesh Kumar, Sohan Khajuria, Dr Manjeet and Farooq Ahmed.
