MLC pays surprise visit to Govt school

JAMMU, May 13: Member Legislative Council (MLC), Ch. Vikram Randhawa, today paid a surprise visit to the Government Middle School, Kiryani Talab, Narwal Bala, Jammu.
In a press communiqué issued here Ch. Vikram said that the Government Middle School, Kiryani Talab, Narwal Bala, Jammu having strength of more than 200 students sans basic infrastructure required for the all round development of the students.
The staff of the school briefed the MLC about its functioning and requirements. Randhawa expressed shock seeing that 80% of the students are children of illegal immigrants i.e., Bangladeshis and Rohingyas. He rued that the previous Governments forced the school administration to admit the children of these illegal immigrants which seems to be a part of greater conspiracy in settling these illegal foreigners in Jammu.
He was informed by the staff that the school is functioning without the incharge Headmaster since long. Furthermore, Randhawa observed that the present building is insufficient to cater the need of the students and teachers are forced to share classrooms.
He assured the staff and the locals of the area that the demand for the upgradation of the infrastructure of the school will be raised with the authorities.
