MLC demands upgradation of Berripatan road

JAMMU, Dec 14: MLC Ravinder Sharma has asked the authorities of Border Roads Organization (BRO) to improve the condition of road from Sunderbani Chowk towards Berripatan passing through Sunderbani town which is in deplorable condition.
Mr Sharma took up the issue with the BRO authorities today in the light of discussions held in the past also regarding the need for upgradation of the road in view of its utility by the Army and a large population of twin tehsils of Sunderbani and Nowshera. He urged the authorities for taking up the construction of bridge at Sodrah Nallah on this road on priority in view of the hardships faced by the people of the area during rainy season when the nallah overflows cutting road link to vast population for hours together. He also demanded widening of this vital road link up to Nowshera via Berripatan.
Mr Sharma also urged the authorities to take up construction of bridge at Kanara Nallah on Nowshera to Laroka road which is urgent need of the border belt of Nowshera West area.
The BRO authorities assured the MLC that the issues would be taken up on priority to meet the genuine demands of the public. They also assured that the work of improvement and black topping on the portion of the road from Sunderbani chowk passing through the Sunderbani town would be taken up in a couple of days.
Meanwhile, Mr Sharma conducted tour of some villages including Dabbar Potha area of tehsil Nowshera and took stock of the problems of the people and noted various demands for development. He also paid obeisance at the Guru Ravi Dass temple at Dabbar Potha, where he was presented a ‘saropa’.
