MLAs for improvement in functioning of PDD, H&UDD

JAMMU, Jan 27: Several members took part in the discussion on Demands of Grants for Power, Housing and Urban Development Departments in the Legislative Assembly today.
Vikar Rasool Wani while initiating the discussion, called for immediate restoration of electricity in the State damaged due to heavy snowfall. He demanded for proper implementation of power schemes like RAPDRP, DDUGJY and others for providing regular power supply to the people with the focus on electrification of uncovered areas.
Muhammad Ashraf Mir said the Government must take immediate steps to explore power sector in the State. He said the local contractors should be taken on board for commissioning various centrally sponsored projects.
Muhammad Shafi Uri urged the Government to set a special focus on the power and its allied sectors to boost the State economy. He said that the water resources of the State should be tapped for the better productivity in the power sector.
Rajesh Sharma said the Jammu city should be developed on modern lines so that tourists and locals get all the possible facilities in the city.
Hakeem Muhammad Yaseen said the people are facing lot of problems related to power in the State and urged the Government to come forward and develop some pro-people schemes which are implemented on the ground.
Pawan Kumar Gupta demanded for equitable distribution of funds to initiate development works and asked the Government to take Legislators on board while sanctioning development works in their respective areas.
Nawang Rigzin Jora asked the Government to enhance the capacity of power sector and said that the issue of return of power projects to the State should be taken up with the Central Government.
Javid Mustafa Mir said the Government has all the resources but there is a need to explore and exploit them to the maximum. He asked the Government to take up the matter for further funding under various centrally sponsored schemes issue of additional funding with GoI to develop and modernize power and its allied sectors.
Mian Altaf Ahmad said the transmission and distribution system should be reviewed with an aim to provide hassle-free services to the people, especially during harsh winter season. He said the Government should ensure that various centrally sponsored schemes launched across the State reach to the grassroots.
Sat Paul Sharma called for creating a proper system in Jammu Municipal Corporation.
Er Abdul Rashid said the power development is a vital sector of State’s economy and this sector needs an utmost attention. He said under Indus Water Treaty, projects running in the state should be taken to their conclusion.
Usman Majeed said the people have been facing electricity crisis and urged Government to work in this regard on priority. He urged the Government to come up with a power policy which would give better services to the people of the State.
Muhammad Altaf Bukhari termed the power sector as ‘economic lifeline’ of the State and urged that Government should come with a clear power, transmission and distribution policy. He urged Government to take a step in promoting the high-rung officials of the department.
M Y Tarigami urged the Government for the development of Srinagar City on modern lines. He said the establishment of colonies in Srinagar and Jammu cities should be prepared under proper planning. He demanded for construction of public sanitary units in Kulgam Constituency besides asked for taking innovative steps for bringing change in the working of Housing and Urban Development departments.
Altaf Ahmad Wani called for proper Solid Waste Management in the State and urged the Government for massive awareness campaign to educate the people about the hazards of the solid waste.
Ali Mohammad Sagar urged the Government for proper Housing Policy for district Srinagar and called for speeding up the work on the various NURAM projects in Srinagar. He urged the Government to address the problems of the old city of Srinagar and pleaded for early repairs and renovation of damaged streetlights in Srinagar City.
Aijaz Ahmad Khan urged for proper implementation of DDUGJY in Gool-Arnas and Gulabgarh constituencies. He demanded up-gradation of receiving stations in his constituency. He also pleaded to expedite the pace of progress of power projects in his constituency.
Shakti Raj Parihar called for the exploitation of water resource to generate hydro energy in his constituency and called for the restoration of various power projects to enhance the power generating capacity of the State.
Choudhary Qamar Hussain urged the Government for establishment of Receiving Stations at Rajouri and Poonch and asked for special focus on power infra of rural areas of twin districts of Poonch and Rajouri.
Devinder Rana called for framing a comprehensive policy for the power sector which would then serve as a referral point to the sector. He pleaded for undertaking massive measures for increasing the power generation in the State and said that a policy should also be framed for the same.
Jeevan Lal called for proper utilization of water resources to generate of hydro energy. He urged the Government for focusing on establishment of Micro Hydro Projects in the State.
Bashir Ahmad Dar called for streamlining the PDD to get better results for strengthening the power infrastructure in the State. He demanded for proper implementation of various scheme and demanded for the posting of Executive Engineer in his constituency.
Raja Manzoor Ahmad said the Government should explore the possibilities to develop its own power projects to tap the power potential. He called for the proper implementation of DDUGJY in the State and pleaded for regularization of daily wagers engaged in the department.
Javid Ahmad Rana called for speeding up of tendering process to commence the process for development of power infrastructure in the state. He called for up-gradation of Power Grid Station, establishment of maintenance workshop in his constituency and also advocated for the regularization of casual labours working in PDD.
Mohammad Amin Bhat demanded up-gradation of receiving stations at Qazigund and Kund and the replacement of damaged transformers in his constituency.
Mubarak Gul called for creation of monitoring cell in every district to check transmission. He called for proper implementation of centrally sponsored schemes and urged the Government to pay special attention toward the rural area of the State.
Abdul Rashid Dar demanded for filling of vacant post of Executive Engineer and proper waste management in his constituency. He also demanded for proper implementation of directions issued in DDB meetings and demanded for early repairing of damaged transformers and uninterrupted power supply to his constituency.
Daleep Singh Parihar complemented the Government for improving the working of PDD. He demanded for early replacement of transmission line and electric poles in his constituency.
Asgar Ali Karbalaie called for proper implementation of DDUGJY.
Dr Devinder Kumar Manyal demanded for releasing fund for completion of pending works of receiving station at Block Nud. He also called for up-gradation of workshop in his constituency besides improving sanitation in Sainik Colony area.
Abdul Majeed Padder demanded for early restoration and up-gradation of various receiving stations in his constituency.
Mohammad Akbar Lone demanded for up-gradation of receiving station at Nowagm, Sumbal and Wangipora and called for augmentation of transformers of receiving stations of Naidkhah, Hajin and Safapora.
Kuldeep Raj demanded release of funds for completion of pending works of workshop in Kathua and demanded additional Rs 10 lakh for Hiranagar Municipal Committee.
G M Saroori demanded starting of work on Rattle Power Project and implementation of RR Plan around the project. He also demanded opening of workshop at Kishtwar for undertaking immediate repairs of the damaged transformers.
Yawar Ahmed Mir called for proper implementation of DDUGJY in his constituency.
Rajeev Sharma demanded establishment of transformer workshop in Akhnoor and multi-parking at Akhnoor Bus stand.
Dalden Namgiyal  called for expediting the execution process of DDUGJY in un-electrified areas of Nobra valley. He also asked to pace up the proposal of transmission line from Leh to Nobra.
Shah Mohammad Tantray demanded beautification of historic town of Poonch and asked for improving the staff strength and overall infrastructure of Poonch Municipal Committee.
Sheikh Ishfaq Jabbar asked for removal of bottlenecks for under construction Bus stand project at Ganderbal.  He called for establishment of Solid Waste Management Plant and Bus stand in his constituency.
Shamim Firdous demanded for making drainage system of the city functional and called for taking up various way side of roads of the Srinagar City for beautification.
Dina Nath Bhagat urged for construction of Micro Hydro Projects on the pattern of Himachal Pradesh in his Constituency.
Gulzar Ahmad Wani demanded for up-gradation of Receiving Station of Achabal and Shangus.
Noor Mohammad Sheikh called for early repairs and renovation of streetlights and also demanded for proper management of drainage system in Srinagar City.
Dr Krishan Lal urged for proper dumping of waste material in his Constituency and complimented the Government for providing Rs 1 crore for use of up gradation of power sector in his Constituency.
Choudhary Mohammad Akram demanded for improvement of HT/LT lines in Poonch Constituency and demanded for providing sufficient funds for Municipal Committee, Surankote.
Abdul Majid Larmi pleaded for establishment of Sub Division PDD at Kuhmoh besides advocated for proper implementation of DDUGJY.
Dr Gagan Bhagat demanded for proper distribution of LED bulbs among the consumers and pleaded for proper disposal of solid waste in his Constituency.
Advocate Mohammad Yusuf complimented the Government for taking various steps for developing power sector and also demanded for up-gradation of Receiving Stations in his Constituency.
