MLA, DDC take stock of public grievances

BHADERWAH, Dec 26: To redress the grievances of people at their doorsteps in Bhaderwah and its adjoining areas, MLA Bhaderwah, Mohd. Sharief Niaz and District Development Commissioner (DDC) Doda, Farooq Ahmed Khan today convened a public meeting at Sartingal.
Chief Planning Officer Doda Dr. Yassir Balwan, Assistant Commissioner Development Doda K.L Sharma, SDM Bhaderwah Dr. R.K Bharti, District Social Welfare Officer Doda Rakesh Kumar, XEn PWD (R&B) Division Bhaderwah, XEn PDD, XEn PHE and XEn PMGSY besides Sarpanchs, Panchs of the area and Assembly President Youth Congress Bhaderwah Nadeem Sharief Niaz also attended the meeting.
While speaking on the occasion, MLA said that Government is committed to provide all basis amenities like drinking water, medicare, electricity, roads and education for the development and upliftment of rural masses . He said various schemes have been initiated by the Government for benefit and welfare of the people in the district and asked the concerned implementing agencies to create awareness among the people about these schemes.
Mr. Niaz also said that for improvement/upgradation of electricity network in the district a plan has been submitted to the Government of India for approval.
Various demands were put forth by the people on the occasion which include improvement of Sartingal – Sharekhi road, upgradation of Sub- Centre at Sharekhi, opening of Sheep and Animal Husbandry centres in the area, approval of pending old age pension cases, timely payment of MGNREGA wages, issuance of ration cards as per 2011 census, repair of foot bridge at Butla, implementation of Haryali project in the area, engagement of local labourers in various Government infrastructure development works in the region, availability of timber at reasonable rates, proper distribution of K-Oil and speedy execution of PMGSY roads.
DDC Doda Farooq Ahmed Khan while speaking on the occasion said that coordinated efforts are needed for effective and sustainable development of the district. He said various benefit and welfare schemes have been initiated in the district to boost the socio-economic status of the poor people.
