KATHUA, Nov 25: MLA Bani Jeewan Lal organized a public darbar in Bani and laid foundation stone for various works to be constructed by Rural Development Department at an estimated cost of Rs 26.00 lakh.
The MLA also inaugurated works amounting to Rs 13.00 lakh in the area on the occasion.
The officers who were present in the public darbar included Rajeev Khajuria A.C.D Kathua, Ajeet Singh, SDM Bani, Vikram Singh, B.D.O Bani, .Ram Chand B.D.O Duggan, Tehsildar Bani, Shiv Kumar, A.E.E PHE, A.E.E, PWD, A.E.E Irrigation, C.D.P.O Bani, C.D.P.O Duggan, T.S.O Bani and other Tehsil level officers.
The works inaugurated by Jeewan Lal included construction of steps and shed at Mela ground Bani, Drain at Bani Nalla from Radhakrishnan temple to GREF road, Tractor road from GREF road to Panchayat Ghar Karddo, lane from Wani Chaki to Shiv Kumar house, lane with R/wall near Braham Kumar Ashram Bani, toilet complex at Boa, lane from GREF road to Higher Secondary School Bani.
MLA said that the works taken up under MPLAD, MLACDF, MGNREGA for uplifting the face lift of Bani town. He directed the RDD for completion or works on priority. He also ensured the public for his focus on development of Bani town and Bani Constituency which is being developed as a tourist destination.
The MLA also inspected various on going development works. He directed the officials to perform their duties with punctuality, zeal and dedication without making the general public to suffer.
Jeewan Lal interacted with the people of far flung areas and listen to their demands which mainly related to improvement in power supply scenario, appointment of staff in schools, construction of school buildings, upgradation of High School to Higher Secondary School and Middle School to High School and road connectivity. Responding to demands MLA assured them that their genuine demands would be fulfilled as soon as possible. The MLA assured the people that he was always available for people and they can approach him at any time.
