MLA alleges question paper leaked, BOSE denies charge

JAMMU, Mar 14:  Close on the heels of incident of leakage of Class 12th question paper and consequent suspension of eight officials in this connection, alleged repetition of the same mistake was reported in an examination centre in R S Pura today.
The incident took place at the examination centre in Government City Middle School at Badyal Morh, R S Pura where outer seal of the Class 12th Science question paper, Part-B ( Zoology), was found broken an hour before commencement of the said paper.
The matter came into light around 2.45 pm when  MLA R S Pura,  Dr Gagan Bhagat, along with ZEO R S Pura, Kamla Devi inspected the said  examination centre  where the Class 12th  examination was  going on.
The MLA and ZEO found that seal of the question paper, which was scheduled to start at 4 pm,   was broken. When Dr Gagan asked the Superintendent of the examination centre, Isha Choudhary, to explain the reason, she was not able to give a satisfactory reply.
On being informed, SDM R S Pura, Susheel Kumar immediately reached the spot, along with the SDPO   and SHO R S Pura while BOSE also rushed its Joint Secretary to look into the matter.
When contacted, Secretary BOSE Veena Pandita told the Excelsior that only outer seal of the Zoology question paper, packed in three layers, was found broken.  “The said question paper had neither been taken out from the packet nor distributed among the students and hence we can’t say it was leaked,” she added.
While elaborating, she explained that the examination of Science was to be held in two parts, Part-A (Botany) from 2 pm to 4 pm and then Part-B (Zoology) from 4 pm onwards. “The question paper of Zoology, outer seal of which was found broken, was not leaked and the same was distributed among the candidates timely. However, the Joint Secretary, who personally visited the said centre,  will submit a detailed report in this regard tomorrow and if any irregularity is found, strict action will be taken,” she said.
Meanwhile, Chairman JKBOSE visited various centres of examination of HSP-ll, Annual Summer Zone and framed six UFM cases, five in HSS Ramgarh centre and one in Middle School Gudwal.
The BOSE team inspected Vimal Muni College of Education, Vijaypur Bara, Govt H S Swankha, Govt HSS Ramgarh and Middle School Gudwal Vijaypur.  The Chairman was accompanied by Azhar Masudi, Dy Secretary Central JKBOSE,   Satish Kissu Asstt Secretary Samba JK Board office and Girja Koul, Section Officer Vijaypur.
Chairman BOSE gave strict instructions to all the Superintendents to be careful while performing their duties in the examination hall. He also instructed the officials to make strict vision on proper execution of examination in all centers.
