JAMMU, Aug 8: Rajeev Sharma MLA Akhnoor along with Sunaina Sharma, SDM Akhnoor, Executive Engineer Flood Control, Executive Engineer, Irrigation Civil and Mech., SDAO Akhnoor, Tehsildar Jourian visited the villages Devipur,Bomal and Panjgrain which were water logged due to sudden flash floods in these area and asked the concerned officers for assessment of the damage caused by the heavy rains and flash floods. He also gave instructions for timely dewatering of the silted and water logged areas.
Further, a meeting was held at PWD guest house Akhnoor in which Rajeev Sharma, MLA Akhnoor along with Sunaina Sharma, SDM Akhnoor, Munish Anand, SDPO Akhnoor and other officers of Sub Division Akhnoor deliberated upon the problems being faced by general public in the ongoing Monsoon season.
In the meeting various issues of Sub Division Akhnoor were discussed and on spot directions were issued to all the sectoral officers for timely redressal of grievances of the public for instance, Chlorination of water tanks in all the schools and water tanks of Primary Health centres and Sub District Hospital, cleaning of all the drains in Municipal area etc.
An inspection squad comprising of Tehsildar Maira Mandrian, SDPO Akhnoor, Dy. CEO Akhnoor, SHO Akhnoor and Naib Tehsildar Maira Mandrian was constituted to check the functioning and attendance of all the Government institution viz. Sub District Hospital Akhnoor, Community Health Centre Jourian, other Primary Health Centres, educational institutions including higher secondary, middle and primary schools along with all the other Government offices. The inspection squads was directed to ensure comprehensive monitoring of all the government offices, so that all the benefits of the welfare schemes reach at the doorsteps of the public.
