UDHAMPUR, July 15: A middle aged woman, missing since yesterday, was found dead under mysterious circumstances at Hartayal Nallah in Basantgarh, here today.
The deceased was identified as Darshna Devi (45), wife of Krishan Lal of village Chattrari. On being informed by some locals, Police shifted the dead body to PHC Basantgarh for postmortem and other legal formalities.
The deceased was missing from her home since yesterday and according to the family members, she was mentally disturbed.
Basantgarh Police has registered a case in this connection under Section 174 RPC for further investigation.
Meanwhile, in another case, a 50-year old man was brought to District Hospital Udhampur where doctors declared him as brought dead. Cause of death could not be ascertained while Police has registered a case in this connection, under 174 RPC for further investigation.
The deceased was identified as Gian Singh, son of Devi Dass of Doda, A/p Patta Thathi.
