Missing woman’ body recovered from Tawi River

JAMMU, Mar 30: The dead body of a woman, who was missing from her in-laws home since yesterday, was recovered this morning from Tawi River near Tawi Island.
According to a police spokesperson, the dead body of the woman identified as Veena Talla (46) wife of Vinay Talla, a resident of Janipur Colony, was spotted by some locals amid Tawi River at about 11 am, today.
On getting information from locals, a police team from police post Canal Road led by Incharge, SI Sandeep Charak, reached the spot, retrieved the body from the river and shifted it to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu, where after conducting postmortem, it was handed over to its legal heirs for last rites.
According to the police, a missing report of the lady was registered yesterday by her in-laws in police station Janipur. The family members said that the deceased was mentally disturbed for quite some time.
A case under relevant Sections has been registered at concerned police station and investigations started.
