Missing man’s skeleton found from forest, murderer arrested

JAMMU, May 15: The skeleton and belongings of a 19-year-old youth who was missing since April 17, was today found from a forest in Gharota area, on the disclosure of the murderer.
According to a police spokesman, a man identified as Kala Ram son of Shah Ram, resident of Garhkhal, today lodged a written complaint in police station Gharota that his son namely Sunil Kumar who had come for business in Gharota, is missing since April 17, 2017 and in this connection a missing report is pending with police station Kanachak.
The spokesman said that on the suspicion of Kala Ram that his son was murdered by a man identified as Liyaqat Ali son of Mohabbat, resident of Seri and others, Liyaqat Ali was interrogated, who collapsed and admitted his role in the murder.
He said that on the disclosure of the Liqauat Ali, skeleton remains of the deceased including skull with jaw, scapula, spinal bones, ribs, femur and tibia along with his clothes and sleepers were recovered from bushes of Seri village.
The spokesman said that the skeleton remains were got examined by the medical officer of PHC Bhalwal and later those were sent to GMC Jammu for preservation and further sampling to be sent to Chandigarh for DNA profiling. He said that the main accused, Liaqat Ali was arrested while efforts were on to nab his accomplices.
The case was worked out by SHO, police station Gharota, SI Sachinder Singh under the supervision of Incharge SDPO, Munish Anand and SP Rural, Arun Gupta.
