Missing man’s body exhumed from grave

POONCH, June 8: The police today exhumed the dead body of a youth hailing from Soura in Kashmir, from a grave at Poonch and handed over to the family.
Official sources said that dead body of a youth was recovered from Chakkan-da-Bagh area of Poonch on May 29, 2018. He went missing from the house of his friend at Poonch on May 25. His friend lodged missing report with Poonch police the next day. The police kept the unidentified body in the mortuary of Poonch hospital for three days and then buried in the local graveyard as unclaimed. His family members today came searching to Poonch and identified him from his clothes kept in Police Station. He was identified as Abdullah (28), son of Abdul Hamid Lone, resident of Soura in Kashmir.
Then after seeking permission from the District Magistrate, Poonch  the police exhumed the dead body from the grave and sent its samples for DNA test.  The body was also handed over to the family. The police has started inquest proceedings into the case.  His mother told police that Abdullah was mentally disturbed for the past some time and they were searching for him. He had gone to Poonch to meet his friend and went missing there.
